Montini Catholic awarded Admissions Coordinator, Mrs. Kim Richmond with our prestigious Lasallian Educators Award for 2017. The award was presented at our annual Founder's Day Ceremony this May.

It was 1985 when alumna, Kim (Caffarelli) Richmond '81, became the second female graduate to join Montini's faculty (Math Department). "An outstanding classroom teacher, Kim left Montini after the 1991 school year to raise her family with husband, Dan," said President Jim Segredo upon announcing the award. "She returned in the fall of 1992 to work with Brother Thomas Harding and the late Susan Musil in our Admissions Office."

Richmond received much praise for her unique talent in teaching Math concepts. "Her approach is like poetry," said former colleague, Sheri Tucci. However, it is in working with prospective families where she has found her true calling and expanded her role greatly at the Lasallian high school (where she is also a member of Montini's Hall of Fame). "Kim has been a main stay in our Admissions Office and has developed into one of the finest and well respected Admissions Representatives in the Chicagoland area," added Segredo.

Kim's love and commitment as Admissions Coordinator is second to none, according to colleagues and parents who know her best. It is her unique style of making nervous parents feel at home and her sincere dedication to walking prospective families through the process of high school admissions that allows Montini Catholic to welcome new Broncos through their doors each year.

Mrs. Richmond, who just completed her 31st year as a member of Montini's faculty and staff, also received the Faculty Dedication and Service Award in March of 2017 at Montini's Maroon and Gold Gala. Each award is presented to a member of Montini's staff who has displayed the dedication and care of a true Lasallian educator."No one works harder than Kim," said President Segredo. "For twenty-five years she has directed numerous admissions events, helped design and develop hundreds of admission materials, scheduled thousands of shadow visits and had countless meetings with potential parents, all with great passion for carrying on our Bronco tradition of excellence."

In the past seven years, Mrs. Richmond has added the title of "alumni parent" to her Montini resume. Daughter Samantha graduated from Montini in 2010, and son, Michael, in 2014.
